About the role
The School of Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin seeks a permanent Lecturer/Assistant Professor to lead and develop the Equine Reproduction and Fertility discipline. The role combines teaching, clinical service, and research within the Section of Equine Clinical Studies, Diagnostic Imaging and Anaesthesia.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and clinical teaching in equine reproduction, including pre‑clinical modules.
- Supervise postgraduate residents and provide out‑of‑hours clinical care for equine reproductive cases.
- Develop and lead original research projects, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and secure national and international collaborations.
- Contribute to the equine reproduction service at the UCD Veterinary Hospital.
- Engage with the wider One Health and fertility community to foster interdisciplinary partnerships.
Required profile
- Veterinary medicine degree registrable with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
- Demonstrated expertise in equine reproduction and fertility.
- Proven ability to lead academic programmes and develop research initiatives.
- Commitment to high‑quality teaching and clinical service.
