Maintenance Fitter – Plant & Engineering Support

About the role

The Maintenance Fitter will join the plant team at Dawn Meats Grannagh, providing hands‑on technical support to keep production running smoothly. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical and refrigeration equipment in a fast‑paced food‑processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute plant‑specific maintenance strategies to meet performance targets and minimise downtime.
• Carry out work orders safely and on schedule, ensuring full compliance with company procedures.
• Inspect machines and equipment for conformance with standards and report any deviations.
• Upload job details to the handheld mobile field‑technology device upon completion.
• Support production teams to enable schedules to be met and resolve issues promptly.
• Complete all required paperwork and adhere to health‑and‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) with at least 3 years post‑apprenticeship experience.
• Proven experience with process equipment, controls, automation, electrical and mechanical installations, and refrigeration systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for shift work, overtime and on‑call duties.
