Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

Simberi Gold Company Limited is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead the Planning & Reliability function at its open‑cut mine in Papua New Guinea. This three‑year fixed‑term position operates on a 21/14 FIFO roster from any Australian capital city.

Key responsibilities

• Manage schedule compliance, backlog, plant‑maintenance compliance and materials kitting against targets.
• Develop and implement risk‑based plant‑maintenance strategies using Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Maintain accurate preventive‑maintenance (PM) strategies and master data within the Pronto system.
• Prioritise reliability improvement, condition monitoring and defect‑elimination activities based on asset criticality, risk and cost impact.
• Support fixed‑plant maintenance strategy, ensuring alignment with asset criticality and business priorities.
• Monitor asset health, identify adverse conditions early, and prevent breakdowns.
• Track team performance against KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog, defect elimination, shutdown/turnaround performance and budget adherence.

Required profile

• Proven experience with CMMS for maintenance of fixed and mobile plant in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering fundamentals to apply RCM principles.
• Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling maturity concepts.
• Drive, energy and passion for delivering positive operational impact.
