About the role
We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team in Waterford. The role involves keeping plant, equipment and building systems running efficiently, performing both preventive and corrective work while supporting a safe, compliant environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment and building systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and minimise downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of equipment.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when required.
- Maintain spare‑parts inventory and assist with stock‑control activities.
Required profile
- Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician in manufacturing, industrial, pharmaceutical, logistics or facilities environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Good computer skills and experience using a CMMS.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Desirable: trade certification, degree qualification, experience in a regulated environment, knowledge of PLC systems and automation equipment.
