Manager, Software Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Business Experimentation and Optimization (BE&O) team is looking for a technically strong Manager, Software Engineering to lead a group of engineers building full‑stack applications, APIs, data‑processing pipelines and analytics platforms. The role blends people leadership with hands‑on technical involvement, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, cloud‑native solutions that drive measurable value for Mastercard clients.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor and manage performance of a high‑performing engineering team.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on ownership, accountability and continuous learning.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex software initiatives, from planning through release.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate priorities into technical strategy and execution plans.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, system design reviews and code reviews.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams to align priorities and manage dependencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams and developing engineering talent.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with product, business and technical partners.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on technical involvement.
• Experience delivering scalable, cloud‑native solutions in an enterprise environment.
