Manufacturing Engineer – Automation & Lean

About the role

Sanmina Fermoy is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support high‑volume, regulated production of medical devices. You will work on the shop floor to ensure equipment performance, drive process improvements and support new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor machine performance in real time and maximise output.
• Specify, install and support production equipment, including robotics, PLCs and pneumatics.
• Lead preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and improve yield.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations for line and quality issues.
• Provide technical reports, DFM input and process capability analyses.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Support continuous‑improvement and Lean initiatives.

Required profile

• NFQ Level 8 degree in Engineering (Electronic, Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a regulated high‑volume manufacturing environment, preferably medical devices.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to debug and troubleshoot processes.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on compliance and documentation.
