Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the role

TORPEY is seeking a senior Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day factory activities in Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on involvement to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective production of premium sports products.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site manufacturing operations, meeting quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Plan and schedule production, manage throughput and allocate resources efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement using digital manufacturing systems and Lean production metrics.
• Lead, mentor and develop the production team, handling recruitment, training and performance.
• Manage inventory and purchasing for raw materials, supplies and spare parts.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate third‑party service to minimise downtime.
• Control warehousing, dispatch and inbound/outbound logistics, acting as the central communication point.
• Resolve operational issues across the facility, including basic IT support and facilities upkeep.
• Collaborate with engineering and R&D to introduce new technologies that boost efficiency and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in manufacturing or production management, preferably in a fast‑growing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Hands‑on attitude and willingness to work on the shop floor when needed.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven mindset.
