Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the efficient operation of a leading global food and beverage manufacturing facility in Kildare. The role involves performing planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery runs safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and both proactive and reactive repairs on plant equipment to minimise downtime.
• Support process improvements that increase efficiency and machine reliability.
• Utilise diagnostic techniques such as thermography and vibration analysis for predictive maintenance.
• Log maintenance activities, create work orders and track completed work using digital maintenance management systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and implement best‑practice maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of conveyor, chain‑ and belt‑driven equipment.
• Pneumatic systems, mixers, elevators and filling/packaging machinery.
• Diagnostic tools: thermography and vibration analysis.
• Familiarity with automated systems, HMIs and sensors.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems.
