Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Shift Role

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join AbbVie’s Biologics maintenance team on a weekend or night shift. The role involves planned and unplanned maintenance of robotic packaging, aseptic manufacturing, and filling equipment in a highly automated, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on manufacturing, filling, and packaging equipment using a Reliability‑Centred Maintenance (RCM) approach.
• Troubleshoot and fault‑find automatic, semi‑automatic, and batch equipment employing Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Problem Solving techniques.
• Repair equipment to the highest standards and support projects from design through installation.
• Identify improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in on‑call duties, maintain training records in eLMS, and update SAP for spare‑part requisitions and downtime notifications.
• Engage with vendors and suppliers to source non‑stock parts.

Required profile

• National Craft Senior Trades Mechanical qualification.
• Proven experience troubleshooting in a highly automated, regulated pharmaceutical or similar environment.
• Familiarity with aseptic filling lines, autoclaves, lyophilisation, packaging operations, automated inspection lines, and robotic packing.
