National IBG Officer

About the role

IOM is looking for a National IBG Officer to lead its Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) portfolio in Ireland. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will manage project implementation, coordinate with donors and partners, and ensure effective support for international protection applicants and temporary protection beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, roll‑out and operational management of IBG projects across multiple sites.
• Develop project work plans, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Coordinate closely with IOM headquarters, regional offices and local stakeholders.
• Provide cultural mediation and case‑work assistance to beneficiaries.
• Manage budgets, reporting and documentation for all IBG activities.
• Represent IOM in meetings with government agencies, NGOs and other partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field.
• Relevant experience in migration management, immigration and border governance, or project coordination.
• Strong knowledge of the Irish immigration system and protection processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
