About the role
We are seeking a National Transport Compliance Lead to oversee fleet compliance, transport systems and continuous improvement across our Value Centre network. Reporting to the Operations Development Manager, the role ensures the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the national fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Road Transport legislation, RSA requirements, EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive and company transport policies.
- Manage national fleet compliance, keeping all vehicles roadworthy and compliant.
- Monitor driver compliance – hours, tachograph analysis, licence and CPC validity – investigate infringements and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct transport compliance audits across the depot network, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Produce and analyse transport, fleet and compliance data, creating management reports and KPIs.
- Implement and utilise transport management software to boost operational efficiency.
- Manage transport systems such as the VITA delivery management system, ensuring delivery windows, routing performance and electronic proof of delivery are maintained.
- Maintain accurate fleet and driver records and provide regular compliance and performance reports to senior management.
- Deliver compliance training and support onboarding of drivers and transport teams.
- Build strong relationships with depot management, maintenance providers, suppliers and external transport partners.
- Support procurement activities, supplier performance reviews and transport contract negotiations.
- Lead fleet and transport improvement projects focused on safety, customer service, efficiency and sustainability.
Required profile
- Knowledge of Irish transport regulations and industry best practices.
- Extensive experience in a transport, logistics or compliance role.
- Excellent administration skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
