Oncology Staff Nurse – Full-time Permanent

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the Oncology team at the Limerick Cancer Centre on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to an assigned caseload of oncology patients in line with best-practice and evidence-based guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences and clinical audits.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans, ensuring privacy, dignity and cultural sensitivity.
• Educate patients and families about treatment, side-effects and self-care, acting as an advocate.
• Collaborate with the wider healthcare team and external agencies to facilitate discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and comply with HSE policies, professional codes and legislation.
• Contribute to service improvement, innovation and community health initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration on the Nursing Board (An Bórd Altranais).
• Experience in oncology or a willingness to develop competence in this specialty.
• Commitment to adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and HSE guidelines.
• Ability to work within scope of practice and maintain professional accountability.
• Strong ethical awareness, respect for patient confidentiality and cultural diversity.
