Operations Project Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

AbbVie’s Eye Care Business Unit in Westport is seeking an Operations Project Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will lead cross‑functional projects that support manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with cost targets, regulatory compliance, safety and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and close manufacturing‑related projects, managing timelines, budgets and resources.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while maintaining compliance with FDA, HPRA and EPA regulations.
• Produce regular status reports and communicate progress to stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality, regulatory, supply chain and other functions.
• Facilitate workshops and drive process‑improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Lead indirect, cross‑functional teams to achieve project milestones and KPI targets.
• Manage change controls, develop training plans and support go‑live activities.
• Establish and monitor a set of project‑management KPIs for the Business Unit, reporting on performance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex projects in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, HPRA, EPA) and safety standards.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and negotiate across multiple functions.
