Packaging Machine Operator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team in Drogheda. The role involves operating and maintaining automated packaging equipment such as case packers and baggers to ensure products are packaged to the highest quality standards while meeting output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate automated packaging machinery, including case packers and baggers, and select the correct programs for each SKU.
• Set up equipment, perform changeovers and ensure smooth line running with minimal downtime.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust settings as needed and record production data.
• Carry out routine inspections, cleaning and basic maintenance (CIL/DFF) and promptly report faults.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, waste reduction and OEE tracking.
• Ensure all packaged products meet quality and food‑safety specifications and complete required documentation.
• Collaborate with line leaders, maintenance and quality teams, providing clear shift handovers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven experience on automated production or packaging lines, preferably with case packers or baggers.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and good communication skills.
• Comfortable working shift‑based schedules.

Required skills

• Operation of case packers and baggers (Meypack experience highly desirable).
• Familiarity with OEE systems such as TrakSYS.
• Knowledge of Lean, 6S and continuous‑improvement tools.
