Part Qualified Accountant / Accounting Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Part‑Qualified Accountant or Accounting Technician to join a well‑established renewable technologies company in Sligo. The role supports the finance function, contributes to project costing, pricing and profitability analysis, and works closely with finance, operations and project management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices, reconcile bank, supplier and customer accounts.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end procedures, VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records, support credit control and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare cost estimates, analyse material and overhead costs, and develop project pricing models.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, produce profitability reports and maintain costing databases.
• Prepare management reports, KPI dashboards and analyse project performance and gross margins.

Required profile

• Experience in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Part‑qualified accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, ATI or equivalent) or actively studying towards one.
• Experience in construction or other project‑based environments.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational abilities with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAGE accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and data analysis.
• Familiarity with other accounting/ERP systems such as Xero, QuickBooks or SAP.
