Part Qualified Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to join the finance team of an electrical contracting group based in Ballycoolin. The role will support the day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure accurate reporting for a small but growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file PAYE, BIK, VAT, RCT and ROS submissions.
• Manage supplier payments, accounts payable and creditor relationships.
• Process payroll, including new starters and leavers.
• Maintain and reconcile Sage 50 and Sage Micropay systems.
• Produce month‑end and year‑end figures, management accounts and support external audit.
• Handle bank and credit‑card reconciliations and fleet insurance administration.
• Liaise with accountants, customers and suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar SME accounting role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Attention to detail and a solution‑driven, self‑starter attitude.

Required skills

• Full working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts.
• Full working knowledge of Sage Micropay.
• Experience using ROS (Revenue Online Service) for VAT, PAYE and RCT filings.
