Part‑Time Food & Beverage Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Part‑Time Food & Beverage Assistant to join the bar and restaurant team at the Metropole Hotel in Cork. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, supporting guests and colleagues while ensuring high standards of service and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive on time in the correct uniform and maintain a tidy work area.
• Set tables, control linen stocks and prepare mise‑en‑place for each shift.
• Take orders, process billing, and perform end‑of‑shift cash‑up.
• Serve food and beverages in the restaurant, bar, meeting rooms or banqueting areas according to Trigon Hotel Group standards.
• Keep all service areas clean, follow hygiene regulations and health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally and report to management.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings, training sessions and fire drills.

Required profile

• Warm, positive personality with a genuine interest in guest care.
• Team player who can also work independently when needed.
• Previous experience in a hospitality or food‑service role is welcomed.

Required skills

• Basic cash handling and point‑of‑sale operation.
• Knowledge of food‑service hygiene and safety standards.
