People & Training Advisor – Mobile Plant Operations

About the role

Newmont is seeking a People & Training Advisor for its mobile plant operations at the Lihir gold mine in Papua New Guinea. You will design, deliver and continuously improve technical training programs that boost the skills, safety and performance of maintenance teams, apprentices and tradespeople.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging technical training for mobile mining and heavy‑equipment fleets.
• Facilitate classroom, workshop, field‑based and on‑the‑job learning activities.
• Provide hands‑on coaching in diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs and maintenance best practices.
• Create and refine training packages, learning materials and competency‑based assessments.
• Support workforce capability initiatives and apprenticeship development programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering technical training for maintenance personnel.
• Strong knowledge of mobile mining and heavy‑equipment operations.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff in practical maintenance tasks.
• Commitment to safety, continuous learning and operational excellence.
