Placement Year Engineer – Sep 2027 Intake

About the role

We are looking for motivated engineering students to join Cunningham on a one‑year placement starting September 2027. The role is site‑based, giving you hands‑on experience across projects in Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare and potentially abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Support site management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Assist with surveying, setting‑out, preparation of drawings, calculations, risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards are met on‑site.
• Liaise with quantity surveyors, subcontractors and clients regarding materials, specifications and progress reporting.

Required profile

• Currently studying Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland or the UK; a full driving licence and own vehicle are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
