Policy Escalation Specialist – Trust & Safety

About the role
The Policy Escalation Specialist joins YouTube’s Trust & Safety Rapid Response team to manage high‑impact policy escalations across all product areas. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners to resolve incidents, develop preventative solutions, and protect the platform from systemic risks.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end triage, tracking, and resolution of policy escalations.
- Coordinate with PR, Legal, Policy, Engineering and executive stakeholders to build consensus during fast‑moving incidents.
- Analyze incident trends, produce operational recommendations, and mitigate policy risks.
- Review graphic, controversial, or offensive video content against YouTube Community Guidelines.
- Participate in on‑call rotations covering weekends and holidays.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in data analytics, trust & safety, policy, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of regional geopolitical contexts and fluency in an additional language (e.g., Arabic, French, Korean) is preferred.
- Proven ability to drive consensus across PR, Legal, Policy, and Engineering teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive updates.
- Resilience in handling sensitive and high‑stakes content.
