Powder Stores Operator

About the role

The Powder Stores Operator is responsible for managing the flow of quality‑released powder through the warehouse, ensuring accurate allocation to dispatch consignments, re‑palletisation, labelling and load assembly. The role supports forklift drivers during peak periods and helps maintain a clean, audit‑ready environment.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate quality‑released powder to dispatch consignments according to SOPs and customer specifications (IOPM 11.28).
• Perform re‑palletisation, labelling and assembly of loads for dispatch loading.
• Maintain up‑to‑date powder store logs, including container checks, temperature/humidity records and knife logs.
• Conduct monthly glass and hygiene audits, record corrective actions in Safefood 360, and keep the store audit‑ready.
• Operate and maintain forklifts, perform daily checks, and assist forklift drivers when needed.
• Use barcode scanners to receive raw materials and packaging, placing items in correct locations.
• Update line charts, complete required documentation (DSI, bund checks) and raise maintenance jobs via PEMAC.
• Participate in daily L4 board meetings, KPI reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to follow defined work procedures and deliver “right first time”.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and audit compliance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and provide cover for forklift drivers during busy periods.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication in shift meetings.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (including high‑reach forklift).
• Barcode scanner usage for inventory tracking.
