About the role
The Primary Education Officer will support the implementation of Languages Connect – Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education. Reporting to senior leadership, the officer will work with primary schools to diversify, enhance and expand foreign language teaching.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and inspire primary teachers to adopt innovative foreign‑language pedagogies.
- Develop and deliver training on active‑learning methodologies aligned with the Primary Language Curriculum.
- Manage complex language‑education projects, ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes achieved.
- Collaborate with teams of associates and external partners to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare high‑quality communications, presentations and reports for stakeholders.
Required profile
- Qualified primary‑level teacher with in‑depth knowledge of the Irish education system and the Languages Connect strategy.
- Proven experience in primary education and project management.
- Minimum CEFR B2 proficiency in at least one foreign language.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and presentation abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
