Principal Data Scientist – Advanced AI & ML for Insurance

About the role

As a Principal Data Scientist you will act as a senior technical leader while contributing individually to high‑impact projects. You will shape the advanced product roadmap, build scalable machine‑learning workflows and collaborate across product, technology and data engineering teams. The role requires strong communication to align priorities with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and adapt Generative AI and machine‑learning solutions from global teams for local business use.
• Guide multiple data‑science projects across insurance domains, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and design best‑practice data‑science processes in the cloud.
• Develop and prototype innovative solutions to improve model accuracy, efficiency and productivity.
• Build, test and deploy predictive models and data products, including ETL pipelines and statistical models.
• Mentor team members, promote technical excellence and share market‑innovation updates.

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or related quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of data‑science experience, including 3+ years of industry experience building and productionising predictive models.
• Strong programming skills in Python (or R) and experience with Azure ML Flow, Apache Spark and distributed computing.
• Proven ability to design robust, testable data pipelines and write clean, maintainable code.
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring others.
