Process Operator – Waste Management Plant

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operator to join our waste‑management plant in Knockharley, Navan. The role focuses on the safe and efficient operation of processing equipment, supporting routine maintenance and ensuring the site remains compliant and productive.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plant and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Carry out routine inspections, record operating data and report any faults or accidents.
• Respond to abnormal or emergency conditions, taking immediate safe action.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance tasks and assist the maintenance team with repairs.
• Support cleaning, painting and general housekeeping across the site.
• Follow all company procedures, operating instructions and safety policies.
• Work additional hours or overtime during breakdowns, major maintenance or unusual operating conditions.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Good mechanical awareness and confidence using basic hand tools.
• Previous experience in a plant, manufacturing, recycling, engineering or similar industrial environment.
• Ability to read and follow operating procedures, safety instructions and maintenance documents.
• Effective communication skills and a practical, responsible approach to problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Basic hand tools.
• Operation of loaders, forklifts or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) – CSCS tickets advantageous.
