Production & Inventory Planner

About the role

The Production & Inventory Planner coordinates plant functions to develop and execute detailed production plans. Working within the planning team, this individual ensures timely execution of materials and production schedules to meet operational targets and customer service goals.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update the Order Action Report on a weekly basis.
• Allocate kits using allocation rules and monitor shortages and their impact on the schedule.
• Liaise with buyers to coordinate supply activities and expedite material deliveries as needed.
• Interact daily with team leads and customer service regarding reschedules or missed shipments.
• Issue a rolling three‑week production plan to business units each week.
• Monitor and report performance metrics related to the production plan.
• Identify capacity bottlenecks and keep work‑in‑process (WIP) levels aligned with targets.
• Generate and distribute inventory‑management reports, review excess/obsolete inventory, and ensure work order integrity.
• Handle MRB issues, attend CCB meetings, and support continuous‑improvement projects.
• Conduct demand‑management analysis, validate demand changes, and review MDS/MPS weekly.
• Call off component materials in line with inventory and vendor‑management policies.
• Collaborate with engineering to set product lead‑times and analyze constraints to meet customer lead‑times.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, health and safety regulations, and industry requirements.

Required profile

• Individual contributor with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with program management, production, supply chain, and purchasing teams.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive in identifying material and capacity needs.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and inventory control processes.
