Project Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment & Process Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a high‑performing engineering team in Ireland’s regulated medical device and advanced manufacturing sector. The role combines project management, equipment optimisation, process improvement and validation activities, working closely with Operations, Quality and Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support small‑to‑medium engineering projects involving new and existing manufacturing equipment.
• Define equipment and process requirements, prepare technical specifications and User Requirement Specifications (URS).
• Develop project plans, manage activities with Microsoft Project and support budget and capital planning.
• Evaluate new technologies, measure equipment efficiency, OEE and downtime, and drive initiatives to improve compliance, yield, throughput and reliability.
• Plan and execute equipment and process validation in line with internal quality systems.
• Provide engineering support, lead root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions using CAPA and non‑conformance processes.
• Assist with supplier selection, technical discussions and equipment procurement.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering engineering projects and equipment improvements in a regulated environment such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of equipment validation, CAPA, root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement methodologies and project management principles.
