Public Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Public Procurement Specialist will support our client in Cork by managing end‑to‑end public tender processes. You will work closely with internal and external legal teams, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of procurement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct requirement‑gathering exercises and formalise tender packs and timelines.
• Prepare tender documentation, including Invitations to Tender, contract notices and award notices.
• Collaborate with legal resources both internal and external throughout the procurement cycle.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively against pipeline activity and business needs.
• Maintain document control and manage contract negotiation activities with suppliers.
• Perform post‑sourcing reviews, capture lessons learned and feed them into Category Management, contract management and Supplier Relationship Management processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in public procurement (essential).
• Procurement qualification (desirable).
• Proficiency with the Office 365 suite, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using e‑procurement tools.
• Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end procurement processes and strategic sourcing methodology.
• Background in supplier identification, tendering, evaluation and selection.
• Ability to gather and challenge stakeholder requirements.
• Proven accuracy in data entry and familiarity with contract administration.
