Qualified Staff Nurse – Community Disability Service

About the role

Join Aurora Enriching Lives as a Staff Nurse and make a daily impact on the health and wellbeing of people with intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities. You will work in a Supported Self‑Directed Living Community, delivering holistic, person‑centred care that promotes independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments, medication administration and health monitoring for residents.
• Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support residents with challenging behaviours using de‑escalation techniques.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and produce high‑quality reports.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, corporate governance and HSE medication management protocols.

Required profile

• Qualified nursing degree in Intellectual Disability (or Psychiatric, General, Children’s) with active NMBI registration.
• Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Full, clean, manual Irish driving licence and own transportation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HIQA standards and clinical governance.
• Competence in medication management (HSE Land course preferred).
• Strong written communication and report‑writing abilities.
