Quality Specialist – Automotive Sector

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional from a panel beating or body‑shop background to move into a pivotal quality role. You will start with hands‑on quality‑control inspections of finished vehicles and progress to designing, implementing and auditing a full Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct final vehicle inspections covering body repairs, pre‑delivery checks, valeting and accessory fitting.
• Identify, document and report visual, mechanical and functional defects using the company quality reporting system.
• Work with production teams to perform root‑cause analysis of recurring issues.
• Recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to eliminate defects.
• Assist in developing, documenting and maintaining the QMS in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Integrate quality principles into daily VPC processes, shifting focus from inspection to prevention.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures and ISO standards.
• Support training and mentoring of staff on quality best practices.

Required profile

• QQI Level 6 qualification or equivalent experience in the motor industry, specifically body repairs.
• Proven experience in a panel‑beating or body‑shop environment.
• Strong understanding of quality‑control processes and ISO 9001 standards.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and drive CAPA initiatives.
