Quality Technician – Weekend Shift (7‑month contract)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Quality Technician to provide quality engineering support on a weekend shift. The role is initially a 7‑month fixed‑term contract and focuses on ensuring product and process quality within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality oversight and input to ensure data integrity, product segregation and other quality requirements are met.
• Identify and execute continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance process controls and the overall Quality System.
• Lead or support investigations, applying a structured approach to root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive plans.
• Support validation activities within the assigned area.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with Alcon’s Quality System and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparation for and participation in external audits by Notified Bodies and Health Authorities.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of technical or manufacturing experience in the medical‑device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, medical‑device standards, GMP and validation requirements.
• Understanding of statistical concepts and ability to perform statistical analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving, technical writing and communication skills.
