Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Support for Bituminous Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join SAIC Bituminous Products, part of the Colas Group, based in Dublin. The role provides commercial support to project teams, safeguards margins, manages cash‑flow and contributes to accurate forecasting and reporting across our bituminous and civil‑engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Measure completed works on‑site and prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Continuously monitor project costs, update cost reports and track labour, plant and material spend against budgets.
• Review subcontractor payment applications, agree measurements with the Contracts Team and generate purchase orders in the internal costing system.
• Price new tenders and repeat works, ensuring accurate cash‑flow forecasts and timely submissions.
• Produce backlog values to support turnover forecasting and prepare Work‑in‑Progress data for month‑end accounts.
• Attend site visits and liaise with stakeholders to resolve commercial, technical and contractual issues.

Required profile

• Proven quantity surveying or commercial experience on highway or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness of costing, contractor management and cash‑flow control.
• Ability to measure works, price variations, prepare interim valuations and assist with tender pricing.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to health & safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Self‑motivated, accountable and able to prioritise workload.
