About the role
Join Freudenberg Medical as a Research & Development Engineer and contribute to the design and launch of innovative medical devices. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to turn concepts into market‑ready products.
Key responsibilities
- Create product and tooling drawings to support quotes, prototyping, and process development.
- Develop and present product and process concepts, including prototypes.
- Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing and assist in quotation preparation.
- Respond to customer enquiries with clear written and verbal communication.
- Design and develop new products, materials, equipment, and processes from concept to design freeze.
- Manage projects to meet timelines, cost targets, and technical deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Regulatory, Health & Safety, and documentation requirements.
- Transfer new products to manufacturing, support validations, and train staff.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools (3P, 5S, DMAIC, Six Sigma).
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Production, Quality, and Technical teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, Automation, or a related engineering/science field.
- 2–3 years of experience in the medical device industry (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CAD systems, preferably Solid Edge.
- Knowledge of extrusion‑based catheter assemblies (advantage).
- Experience with Lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies.
