Risk Assurance Manager – Dublin

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Risk Assurance Manager to join its Dublin team and provide independent second‑line assurance over the bank’s risk management framework, controls and processes. You will work closely with senior management and the board to ensure that key risks are managed in line with regulatory expectations, internal policies and the company’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute and report on 2LOD assurance reviews covering conduct, financial crime, fraud, credit, financial and operational risk.
• Assess compliance with Irish regulatory obligations (CBI, CPC, AML/CFT, Companies Act) and EU requirements (DORA, EBA guidelines, ECB/SSM, GDPR).
• Provide oversight and challenge across the full risk universe, including ICT, information security, outsourcing and data protection.
• Support senior management and the Board with risk insights and recommendations to foster a strong risk culture.
• Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to internal governance, risk frameworks and risk appetite.

Required profile

• Proven experience in second‑line risk assurance within banking or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks relevant to risk and compliance.
• Ability to work independently, analyse complex risk issues and communicate findings clearly.
• Willingness to meet Central Bank of Ireland fitness and probity standards for a Controlled Function.

Required skills

• Risk management frameworks and assurance methodologies.
• Regulatory compliance (Irish CBI, CPC, AML/CFT; EU DORA, GDPR, EBA).
• Understanding of conduct, financial crime, fraud, credit, operational, ICT and data protection risk domains.
