Security Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead a modern cyber‑defense function for a complex technology environment. Based in Ireland and operating in a remote‑first setting, you will combine strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight of security operations, incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Security Operations Center (SOC), detection engineering, incident response and exposure management.
• Ensure efficient alert triage, escalation, coordination and rapid containment of threats.
• Prioritise vulnerabilities and exposures using business impact, exploitability and asset criticality.
• Maintain dashboards, playbooks, runbooks, remediation tracking and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with IT, Platform Engineering, IAM, Product, GRC, Legal and business teams during incidents.
• Build, mentor and retain a high‑performing cyber‑defense team.
• Continuously improve detection capabilities and security controls using threat intelligence.
• Report on operational performance, incident trends and cyber‑risk posture to leadership.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience in Information Security.
• At least 3 years of people‑management experience leading security teams.
• Proven track record managing SOC functions and improving MTTD/MTTR.
• Deep knowledge of modern attack techniques and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience with vulnerability prioritisation using CVSS and business impact assessments.
