Senior Accountant – Manage Client Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established professional services firm with a strong regional network across Ireland. The role offers local client exposure and the chance to manage your own portfolio of accounting and tax engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounting and tax clients end‑to‑end, preparing personal and corporate tax returns.
• Deliver high‑quality client assignments within agreed deadlines and maintain long‑term client relationships.
• Oversee day‑to‑day workflow for allocated clients and supervise junior team members.
• Review work prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support consultancy and advisory projects and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Assist with scheduling, allocation of client work and attend technical or strategic client meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or part‑qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in Irish practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and Irish taxation.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships independently.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and proactive with the ability to handle a varied workload.
