Senior Associate - Balance Sheet Advisory & Structuring

About the role

Howden Group Holdings is hiring a Senior Associate for its Balance Sheet Advisory & Structuring team, based in Dublin with flexible working. The role advises clients on balance sheet and capital optimisation, working with Howden colleagues globally (particularly in London) and clients across Europe and beyond. It calls for deep technical accounting expertise in financial services, preferably with a strong understanding of bank balance sheets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a technical accounting centre of expertise supporting colleagues across the Howden CAP business
• Use technical accounting standards to structure and implement insurance and/or capital markets solutions for clients
• Deliver monthly and bespoke technical updates for clients
• Help structure complex deals together with other senior advisors
• Work with law firms, bankers and consultants to help clients optimise the use of capital and insurance
• Develop and deliver unique approaches and innovative products with the Howden CAP and wider teams
• Support the development and structure of alternative capital vehicles

Required profile

• Technical accounting qualification and practical expertise in an accounting advisory role
• Working knowledge of bank balance sheets and the regulatory environment
• Attention to detail, able to work proactively alone or in a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• High energy and a desire to create something unique in the market
