Senior Associate – Data Risk & AI Security (Cyber Consulting)

About the role

PwC’s Cybersecurity & Privacy practice is looking for a Senior Associate to help clients secure their data as they adopt AI and advanced analytics. You will work on data risk, protection and AI‑enablement projects, guiding organisations on where sensitive data resides, how it is used and how it should be safeguarded.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver data risk and classification programmes, including discovery, scoping and rollout.
• Perform data discovery and sensitivity assessments across structured and unstructured data estates.
• Support data protection and privacy risk assessments, DPIA inputs and data‑flow analysis.
• Implement and assess Microsoft Purview solutions for data discovery, classification, sensitivity labeling and insider‑risk protection.
• Assist clients using data security platforms such as Varonis or equivalent.
• Define operating models, governance structures and control frameworks around data‑security tooling.
• Conduct AI readiness and AI risk assessments focusing on data quality, provenance and access controls.
• Contribute to M365 Copilot readiness assessments and EU AI Act compliance activities.
• Produce client‑ready deliverables, presentations, risk registers and implementation roadmaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Analytics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data security, data protection, data classification or data governance.
• Strong understanding of privacy regulations and AI‑related compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Microsoft Purview (data discovery, classification, sensitivity labeling, DLP).
• Varonis or comparable data security and classification platforms.
• M365 Copilot readiness and AI governance concepts.
• Data discovery, data classification and data protection tooling.
• AI risk assessment and EU AI Act compliance knowledge.
