Senior Associate – Internal Audit

About the role

PwC Ireland is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Internal Audit team. You will work on a variety of audit engagements, providing independent assurance on governance, risk management and internal controls while delivering actionable insights to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit engagements in line with scope, objectives and budget.
• Identify business and audit risks, assess control design and operating effectiveness, and develop testing methodologies.
• Prepare clear, concise reports highlighting findings and recommending practical remediation.
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to business development activities.
• Leverage digital tools and data‑analytics techniques to improve audit efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Recognised university degree or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of practice accounting or internal audit experience in a Big 4, international accounting firm or large internal audit department.
• Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Internal audit or IT audit qualifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data‑analytics tools such as Power BI and Alteryx.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled audit platforms and audit management software.
