Senior Associate – Projects & Construction Lawyer

About the role

William Fry is looking for a senior lawyer to join its Projects & Construction team in Dublin. The role involves providing specialist legal advice on construction, energy, infrastructure and procurement matters across a range of complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on construction‑related legal issues, including procurement, disputes, extensions of time and claims.
• Draft and negotiate construction contracts, financing agreements and development documents.
• Support large‑scale Irish and international projects, working with developers, contractors and funders.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Banking and Corporate departments on construction elements of M&A, financing and refinancing transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house team, focused on construction, energy infrastructure or major projects.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in mentoring junior lawyers.

Required skills

• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, especially RIAI and NEC forms.
• Experience with professional appointment agreements.
• Knowledge of project procurement and financing structures.
