Senior Backend Engineer – Java & Spring Boot

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to expand its Dublin engineering hub. The team is looking for a senior backend engineer to design, build and optimise core services that support high‑volume, mission‑critical financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Maintain and enhance existing micro‑services within a distributed, production‑scale platform.
• Improve system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple regions on new client onboarding initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong background in core Java development and Spring Boot.
• Experience working with micro‑services architectures and distributed systems.
• Ability to contribute to high‑visibility projects tied to major client integrations.
• Good communication skills for cross‑regional collaboration.
