Senior Competition Law Associate – Antitrust & Competition

About the role

McCann FitzGerald is seeking a senior competition law associate to advise domestic and international clients on complex antitrust, merger control and regulatory matters across a broad range of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on EU and national competition law, including cartels, abuse of dominance, vertical agreements and state aid.
• Lead merger control filings before the European Commission and CCPC and manage foreign direct investment assessments.
• Provide guidance on digital markets regulation, sector‑specific regulatory frameworks and state aid compliance.
• Develop competition compliance programmes, conduct dawn‑raid preparedness and respond to regulatory investigations.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver commercially focused advice aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in Ireland or England & Wales.
• 3+ years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm, competition authority or regulatory practice.
• Proven experience advising on EU competition law, merger control, antitrust investigations and competition compliance.
