Senior Controls/BMS Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Controls/BMS Manager to join a leading global organisation in the mission‑critical data‑centre sector. The role is based in Dublin and will support EMEA operations, driving commissioning excellence across large‑scale infrastructure projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support global controls commissioning activities across multiple live projects.
• Develop and implement standardized commissioning strategies from planning through handover (L0‑L6).
• Act as subject‑matter expert for BMS, BAS, EPMS, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Ensure design intent aligns with operational performance requirements and oversee system integration of mechanical and electrical plant.
• Drive commissioning planning, scheduling, sequencing, tag management and lead technical validation workshops.
• Manage safety compliance including PTW, SSOW and LOTO procedures.
• Coordinate vendor and contractor interfaces (OFCI / CFCI) and oversee documentation, test scripts and procedures.
• Conduct loop checks, point‑to‑point testing, functional testing and system start‑up, and manage punch lists and defect resolution.
• Support QA/QC teams to minimise rework and use data‑led tracking systems for risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in commissioning and/or controls engineering within complex infrastructure environments.
• Strong background in data‑centre or other mission‑critical facilities.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix organisation and collaborate with engineering, delivery, QA/QC, vendors and client stakeholders.
