Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join the Cyber Defence team at BoyleSports. You will work closely with the Head of Cybersecurity to design, build and operate detection and response capabilities that protect our online gambling platform from active threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write, test and tune detections across Cortex XDR/XSIAM, AWS CloudTrail, GuardDuty, EKS audit logs, Entra ID, on‑prem AD and other telemetry sources.
• Conduct structured threat hunts based on intelligence and recent incidents, focusing on account takeover, fraud, ransomware and other gambling‑specific threats.
• Lead deep‑dive investigations of alerts escalated from the Palo Alto MSSP and document findings for future analysts.
• Stand on the incident bridge for P1/P2 events, drive containment and eradication, and manage evidence for regulator reporting.
• Develop and maintain SOAR playbooks to automate triage, enrichment, containment and notifications.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with the Palo Alto managed SOC, reviewing detections and providing feedback.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience in cyber defence, detection engineering and incident response.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with platform, infrastructure and product teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in threat hunting and forensic investigations.
• Excellent written documentation skills to ensure knowledge transfer.
