Senior Engineer – Residential Developments

About the role

Our client, a leading Tier 1 building contractor in Ireland, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead engineering activities on upcoming residential developments in Kildare and Meath. The role involves overseeing site engineering, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day engineering activities on site
• Set out and level the site using total stations, GPS and laser levels
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site staff
• Coordinate with the design team, project managers and subcontractors
• Monitor and report on progress, quality and health & safety compliance
• Review drawings and ensure compliance with specifications and building regulations
• Lead QA/QC documentation and inspections
• Attend site meetings and provide technical input and solutions

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 7+ years of site engineering experience
• Strong background in high‑density residential and housing developments
• Solid understanding of Irish Building Regulations and Health & Safety standards
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
