About the role
This full‑time hands‑on technical role focuses on implementing and maintaining the organisation’s IT and security architecture. You will act as the primary technical resource responsible for executing the IT and security strategy, managing assets and ensuring secure staff transitions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain robust network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN) and manage routers, switches, wireless APs and firewalls.
- Lead deployment and management of security tools such as IDPS, antivirus/anti‑malware solutions and SIEM platforms, and conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management and penetration testing.
- Maintain servers and systems across hardware, virtual and cloud environments, including Linux system administration and virtualised platforms (VMWare, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Oversee asset inventory, technical onboarding/off‑boarding of staff, and provide incident response support and mentorship to junior team members.
Required profile
- 5–8 years of IT experience with a strong focus on network implementation and technical security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or Cybersecurity.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ are desirable.
Required skills
- Network protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi.
- Linux system administration.
- Virtualisation and container platforms: VMWare, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker.
- Cloud security environments: AWS, Azure.
- Security tools: IDPS, antivirus/anti‑malware, SIEM, EDR.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of firewalls, routers, switches and wireless access points.
