Senior IT Cyber Security Analyst II

About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Cyber Security Analyst II to strengthen its company‑wide information security program. The role will focus on monitoring, analysing and responding to security incidents while helping to improve the overall security posture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an escalation point for incident response cases and mentor entry‑level analysts.
• Monitor and enforce security policies, standards and processes for network, application, data security and privacy.
• Investigate potential security events using SIEM tools and create/track Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and dashboards.
• Collaborate with IT teams to remediate compromised systems and perform OSINT‑driven investigations.
• Analyse firewall, DNS and antivirus logs to identify malicious activity.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Apply advanced hunting techniques, emerging security technologies and advanced networking concepts in daily work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
• Strong background in cybersecurity, risk management and compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with incident response, security monitoring and mentoring junior staff.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple IT teams.
