Senior Manufacturing Automation Specialist – DeltaV Engineer

About the role

A senior technical leader is needed for the Manufacturing Automation team at a state‑of‑the‑art single‑use facility in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. The role focuses on Emerson DeltaV systems, delivering reliable, GMP‑compliant automation across upstream, downstream, solution preparation and utility processes while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary technical System Owner for Emerson DeltaV DCS supporting upstream, downstream, solution preparation and utility systems.
• Provide advanced technical support and root‑cause analysis for process control and automation during commercial and clinical production.
• Lead approved engineering projects, continuous‑improvement initiatives and new product introductions, ensuring alignment with Digital Manufacturing Operations strategy.
• Manage automation change control, maintenance scheduling and compliance, keeping DeltaV systems GMP‑compliant and audit‑ready.
• Identify and deploy paperless digital tools to advance the facility’s automation vision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on automation engineering experience with Emerson DeltaV in a GMP‑regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
• Proven experience leading tech transfer, process design and commissioning/qualification projects.
• Strong knowledge of batch control standards (ISA S88/S95) and industry regulations (cGMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11).
