About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer Lead provides hands‑on technical support to resolve production issues, drive scrap reduction and improve throughput within a high‑volume moulding environment. The role combines problem‑solving, continuous‑improvement leadership and team management to meet customer requirements while ensuring GMP compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support for machine, tool and process issues, focusing on scrap reduction and throughput improvement.
- Lead root‑cause investigations and systematic troubleshooting across the moulding workcell.
- Coordinate engineering support for moulding production plans and ensure alignment with customer specifications.
- Manage technical and training activities, liaise with equipment vendors and program teams.
- Drive continuous‑improvement projects, monitor trends, and implement process, tooling or operational enhancements.
- Develop and maintain tooling/equipment documentation, drawings, work instructions and maintenance procedures.
- Lead, coach and evaluate a high‑performing engineering team, assigning tasks and ensuring accountability.
- Support safety, quality and GMP programs, recording deviations, change controls and training outcomes.
Required profile
- Honours degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Applied Physics, Electronic, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with clean‑room procedures and medical moulding is desirable.
- Familiarity with process set‑up, validation and IQ/OQ/PQ studies is highly desirable.
