Senior Planner

About the role

Origin Environmental is seeking a Senior Planner to lead medium‑to‑large planning applications across the UK and Ireland. You will join a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering integrated environmental and planning solutions for sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure and residential development.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of planning applications from preparation through submission and delivery.
• Coordinate work with planning consultants, graduate consultants and administrative staff.
• Support senior colleagues on complex Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
• Produce high‑quality planning documentation, reports and correspondence.
• Engage with clients, local planning authorities and community stakeholders, including leading meetings and consultations.

Required profile

• Chartered IPI Planner or equivalent RTPI qualification.
• Strong, comprehensive understanding of the Irish planning system and process.
• Proven experience managing medium to large planning projects and supporting major SID applications.
• Ability to work independently while recognising when senior input is needed.
• Excellent report‑writing and communication abilities.
