Setting-out Engineer – Dublin

About the role

We are seeking a Setting-out Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 main building contractor on a landmark high‑rise project in Dublin city centre. The role involves precise layout work, supervising trades, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards on site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate setting‑out using robotic Total Station, EDM instruments and GPS.
• Manage subcontractors and supervise various trades throughout the construction phase.
• Maintain strong health and safety standards on site.
• Check plans and drawings to verify calculations and specifications.
• Ensure work and materials meet contract requirements.
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients and professional staff to coordinate activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years setting‑out experience on building projects in Ireland or the UK.
• Construction or Civil Engineering degree (Level 8 or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel to site locations.
• Valid Safe Pass certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with robotic Total Station.
• Experience using EDM instruments.
• Competence with GPS for accurate layout.
